Overview
A roof lantern is a raised, pyramid-style glazed roof that sits on a flat roof. It floods a kitchen or extension with light from above and adds a feeling of height to the room.
We fit aluminium roof lanterns on new and existing flat roofs, priced as a range for a typical lantern, installed.
The brightest way to light the middle of a deep extension.
The raised glass makes the ceiling feel taller.
Narrow glazing bars and a powder-coated finish.
Helps reduce glare and summer overheating.
Fitted to new extensions or retrofitted where the roof allows.

Good to know
A lantern sits on an insulated upstand. We check the roof joists, covering and upstand at survey, and our building team forms or trims the opening.
Because a lantern projects above the roof, adding one to an existing roof can need planning permission, and forming a new opening needs Building Regulations approval. We check at survey.
Typically 4–8 weeks from survey to installation, agreed with you up front. One named project manager runs your job from survey to sign-off, and our own fitters do the work — we don't subcontract glazing.
