Planning, regulations and timings
Refrigerant work
Installing or servicing air conditioning involves refrigerant, which by law must be handled by F-Gas certified engineers.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Air-to-air heat pumps that replace fossil-fuel heating may qualify for a £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant in England and Wales. Cooling-only systems don't.
Planning permission
Most heat pumps on houses are permitted development, subject to size, siting and noise limits. Flats, listed buildings and some conservation areas can need consent — we check at survey.
Annual servicing
Every installation can go on an annual service plan, so it keeps running efficiently and stays within any manufacturer servicing conditions. Plans and prices are confirmed on request.
