Power and controls
Switchable glass needs a power supply and controller. Our electricians plan the wiring with the installation.
Electrical work
Power for lighting, heating, motorised parts or smart glass is notifiable electrical work. It must be carried out by a registered competent person or approved by building control, and you receive an electrical installation certificate.

Every one is designed for its site, so there is no honest 'typical' price. We measure and design it at a free design survey, and you get a written quote before anything is ordered.

How much does smart glass cost?
Switchable privacy glass is priced after a survey because it depends on the panel sizes, power and controls. Integral blinds can be priced as an option in the quote builder.
How does switchable privacy glass work?
A film inside the glass turns frosted when the power is off and clear when it's on (or the reverse, depending on the product), controlled by a switch.
Can integral blinds be added to new windows?
Yes. Integral blinds are an option on our windows and doors and can be added in the quote builder.
