Why uPVC windows and doors?
uPVC is the most cost-effective way to replace old, draughty windows with A-rated double glazing. We fit REHAU, a German system, in casement, tilt-and-turn and sliding sash styles, with matching French and patio doors.
uPVC is our Value tier — the baseline every other tier is priced against. It comes in white, grey, anthracite and woodgrain foils, and the frames never need painting.

Planning, regulations and timings
Building Regulations and certification
Replacement windows and doors must meet Building Regulations for energy efficiency, safety glass, ventilation and fire escape. Each installation is certified through a competent person scheme such as FENSA, or signed off by building control, and the certificate is yours to keep for when you sell.
Ventilation
When windows are replaced, the room's ventilation must not be made worse. That usually means trickle vents in the new frames unless the room is ventilated another way — we confirm what's needed at survey.
Conservation areas and listed buildings
If your home is listed, in a conservation area or covered by an Article 4 direction, changing the look of windows or doors may need planning permission or listed building consent. We flag this at survey and give you the product details your council will ask for. Some councils don't accept uPVC on listed buildings or in conservation areas, where aluminium heritage systems can be an alternative.

Typically 6–8 weeks from survey to installation, agreed with you up front. One named project manager runs your job from survey to sign-off, and our own fitters do the work — we don't subcontract glazing.

Is uPVC as good as aluminium?
For energy efficiency at the best price, yes — REHAU gives A-rated double glazing. Aluminium wins on slimmer frames, colour choice and very large openings, which is why it costs more.
What colours do uPVC windows come in?
White, grey, anthracite and woodgrain foils. If you want a specific RAL colour or a different colour inside and out, look at our aluminium tiers.
What guarantee comes with REHAU uPVC windows?
REHAU windows come with a manufacturer guarantee of up to 20 years, plus our workmanship guarantee on the installation. The exact terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.
Do I need planning permission to replace uPVC windows?
Usually not for like-for-like replacement on a house. Listed buildings, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and flats can need consent — we check at survey.
